DROP OFF FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9TH BY 12PM
@ ST. CATHERINE'S, DERRY ST., HBG
There are so many people who lost everything last week during the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. In New York there are people still without power. How can we help? We are collecting basic necessity items that will be sent to New York in hope of easing their suffering and struggles. A local ex-New Yorker is renting a U-Haul to hand deliver the items this coming Sunday.
The items that we are collecting are as follows:
Hats (for adults and children)
Gloves (for adults and children)
Baby Wipes
Diapers (all sizes)
Blankets
Trash Bags
Batteries
Flashlights
Coats (for adults and children - new or gently worn)
Cleaning Supplies
Toiletries
Please send in your item donations no later than 12:00 pm on Friday, November 9 to the School. Thank you all for your help in helping those less fortunate! Any questions feel free to contact Jill Bentz 717-421-8233 or Maria Spizzieri 717-979-2451.

Courtesy of YRC Freight, Debbie Clark’s trucking company employer, we have a 53 foot tractor trailer which will be dropped off on Friday afternoon in our parking lot, filled with hurricane relief supplies on Saturday and Sunday, and delivered by the trucking company at their cost to a disaster relief supply site just outside of NYC. As you know, the need is great. The attached list will tell you exactly what is needed.
Here’s what we need to do. A truck this size is big. To be good stewards of the gift, we need to fill it. Please make copes of the list and share the loading details with your friends, neighbors, and places of work so that we can do our best. I know the time is short, but the need is immediate.
We will receive gifts and load them onto the truck on Saturday AM from 9 am - 12 noon and from 12 noon- 4 pm on Sunday. We hope that by 4 pm on Sunday, the truck will be well filled.
In addition, I need volunteers to help unload the supplies and reload into the truck. Please email me if you can help and when you can help. We could also use some folks willing to help fill out receipts for the gifts, if any are needed.
Because the truck will take up some of our parking spaces, it will be helpful, on Sunday morning, if some able to walk, would park their car at the Branch Office.
This is a wonderful opportunity to help our neighbors in need and to provide light in the midst of darkness.
