Listen every Saturday morning 7-8. We are TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS as we spotlight the fine "area" businesses and get to meet the fine area businessmen and businesswomen who provide such great products and services to us here in Central Pennsylvania....and alot of times....maybe some services and products you may not be aware of or know are available here in our area.
It is our mission to support our local businesses because nowhere will you get better value and customer service than with a locally owned and operated business.
"We're Takin Care of Business".....Saturday mornings on WHP Talk Radio 580
I have lived in Central PA since the early 80's. I grew up outside of Uniontown, PA in the southwestern part of the state in a VERY small coal mining town. Worked on the farm, in the mines, drove truck and worked hard. Went to college at West Virginia University from 1975-79. Was offered my first radio job at WAJR/WVAQ in Morgantown, WV right out of school. In fact, I picked up my diploma Sunday afternoon at 2PM and started that day on the air at 4PM.
I moved to Harrisburg and Central PA in 1984 to get out of radio, but ended up being offered a job at WKBO and then Sunny 99. I was very fortunate in meeting Kathi Wise (Homecoming Queen-CD East 1978) when we worked together at 99.3 FM in the late 80's and we were married in October of 1992. Our first son Jordan was born in October of 1993. Our second son Matthew was born in September of 1997. We have lived in the Linglestown area at the base of the mountain since 97 and are blessed to have WONDERFUL neighbors and friends who we enjoy our spare time with.
We have quite a menagerie. A gorgeous black lab named Casey, a FAT cat named Ramsey and also Sabrina...a white cat we rescued from a shelter who we later found out cannot hear.
I love the area and am proud to call it home. But still a proud supporter of the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins....and of course the WVU Mountaineers.
Along with my on air work Saturday mornings on WHP, I am the full time Creative Director for the 5 Clear Channel-Harrisburg radio stations. I write and produce many of the commercials you hear. I am also the voice on commercials you hear on other area radio stations and on local TV.
I also "produce" other radio programs including Let's Talk Travel With Sandy Fenton and The Old Barn Hockey Show and Legends Of Success with John Resnick which is broadcast nationwide.
I live by the motto of FAITH & STRENGTH. I am blessed to have a job and career that I love. I enjoy coming to work every single day. I love life and love to laugh. And I will always greet you with a smile.
7-7:30 LONG TERM CARE & ELDER CARE WITH KEYSTONE ELDER CARE
This week we all give thanks for what God has given us. Most importantly, having good health. But we all know that there will be a time in our lives as we get older that our health will diminish and we may need assistance. It may be happening now with your parents and if you are a "baby boomer" this soon could be happening to you.
While that may seem depressing, the key is to start planning. One way is to make sure that you are covered with Long Term Care Insurance. This is where our guest comes in and can help. Dave Nesbit is an attorney and founder of Keystone Elder Law and a visionary leader among Central Pennsylvania's long-term care service industry.
Dave provides us with an easy to understand explanation on what we should plan for and information on how he can help your parents or help you plan for the future and ease that burden that can be very overwhelming.
Dave and Keystone Elder Law are holding a free seminar to discuss and answer your questions this Thursday the 29th at the Rossmoyne Business Center at 10,2, and 7. It's free. Learn more and also check out his wonderful holiday gift idea for your loved ones at his website www.keystoneelderlaw.com
And of course you can call Dave anytime at 697-MY PEACE (3223)
