Louis Butts is running for mayor of Harrisburg. Well, after tomorrow he won't. Mostly because no one's going to vote for him, but also because he was caught spraypainting unflattering graffiti on a rival candidate's campaign signs.
From Pennlive:
Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico said a taxi driver saw Butts and another, unidentified man defacing a Papenfuse sign at the corner of Cameron and Herr the night of May 11. The taxi driver followed them to another location, where they defaced another sign. The cab driver got the license plate number of the SUV the men were driving.
And my favorite sentence from the article:
The impact on the outcome of the election is negligible, as Butts was polling somewhere between zero and 2 percent.
Wonder how, exactly, Butts was defacing the signs? I'm so glad you asked.
UPDATE: In this video from ABC27 (embed won't work here, Butts "apologizes" in a rambling six minutes that concludes with Butts declaring himself "resilient, brilliant, and humble".
