Menstrual Products Bill Could Be Moved This Week

(Harrisburg, PA) -- The House Education Committee has scheduled a vote today on legislation that would establish state funding for public schools to provide menstrual products to students. Governor Josh Shapiro's budget proposal had called for the state to allocate three-million-dollars to provide feminine hygiene products for schools. Shapiro says girls skip school or leave during the school day because they don't have or can't afford menstrual products. House Bill 851 would establish the Menstrual Hygiene Products Accessibility Grant Program to provide funding for schools to make feminine hygiene products available in schools restrooms.
