>>State Hospitals Expecting More Staffing Shortages Next Week

(Harrisburg, PA) -- Two of the state's seven regional healthcare coalitions are expecting staffing shortages next week as COVID-19 cases continue to surge. Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine says there are not an unlimited number of hospital beds or healthcare workers, and they are relying on us to do the right thing. The Southwest and Keystone healthcare coalitions are anticipating staffing shortages of 33-percent or more next week, which is being caused by staff having to quarantine after being exposed to the virus. This comes as the state reported its highest single day increase of new cases yesterday.
